Meet the Real Gems

Founded in 2020 by Christine Davis, Reel Gems began as a visionary concept rooted in Christine's passion for storytelling and filmmaking. Originally conceived to support a specific scripted comedy project she was rewriting in February of 2020, Christine soon recognized the broader potential of establishing a production company to bring her numerous film ideas and creative visions to life.

The pivotal moment came in early March when Christine faced a tight deadline for a self-tape request from her talent representatives, leaving her scrambling to find a suitable filming setup. Quick to lend support, Christine's friend and now business partner, Darius Austin, came to her aid with a makeshift blue backdrop. However, upon reviewing the tape, Christine realized the environment was far from ideal, leading her to crave a dedicated space where actors could showcase their talents without distractions.

Driven by a shared passion for production, acting, and entrepreneurship, Christine and Darius merged their expertise to address the challenges actors encounter in finding inspiring and functional creative spaces. They envisioned Reel Gems not just as a company, but as a sanctuary for creatives to unleash their full potential.

Determined to offer practical solutions, Darius suggested incorporating a self-tape service into Christine's company. That same night, fueled by their creative energy, they embarked on a brainstorming session that marked the beginning of Reel Gems' journey.

Today, Reel Gems stands as a beacon for entertainment in Harlem, Christine's hometown. We are dedicated to elevating the creative industry and providing a nurturing environment where artists can thrive and shine.
